As title given Kashmir is truly heaven on earth and also called as The Crown of India, every season kashmir offer different beauty , one can witness vanilla snow all around during winter , chinar tree turns completely yellow during autumn and during spring tulip blooms and decorate the Srinagar with vibrant colors.
We visited kashmir during end of November month, since this travel was post personal work hence we completed our travel in 3 days , it was hectic but amazing and memorable. otherwise kashmir needs atleast 8 days of stays , 1-2 days srinagar , 1-2 days gulmarg ,1-2 days sonmarg and 2 days of times in Pahalgam
Our itinerary was like this : since we had work in Chandigarh we traveled from Chandigarh via Bus , there are good bus service available from Chandigarh to Jammu , Our bus was around 10 PM and we reached Jammu at 6 AM , we took 3 hours break in hotel and then booked scorpio from Jammu to Srinagar , one can get ample of vehicle which daily goes to Srinagar from Jammu. Here is the road condition and travel experience i have documented and uploaded as vlog, this Mahindra scoripio ride costed us 4500/-
If people are coming from different cities like Bangalore , Mumbai etc then it will be better to take flight from source to Srinagar , it will save time and energy.
We stayed in Srinagar for Two nights and stayed in Bombay Heritage House Boat , it was one of kind experience staying in house boat . first day evening and next day morning we did good shikara ride and captured some good people photographs and Afternoon we headed towards Gulmarg and Tanmarg trip , little mistake we did is we should have given good time to Gulmarg and unfortunately we couldnt , gulmarg has good number decent activities , one most important one is Gondala ride to Phase 1 and Phase 2. here is vlog which covers Gulmarg , Tanmarg and Drung Waterfall. Srinagar to Gulmarg and coming back will cost around 3500 Scorpio / Innova.
Next day we checked out from Boat house and headed towards Sonmarg , this time we booked Innova and cost was around 3500/- to drop at Sonmarg , we booked Mogul India Sonmarg, and when we reached sonmarg our eyes were always wide open to see this picturesque beauty. during day time vanilla white snow covering mountain , beautiful sun rays , beauty of Sind river and during night time watching sky gazing millions of Stars , what a day and night Sonmarg offers. There are view points are like Zero point , mini zero point ( be careful with Himalayan bear ) , Last village of Kashmir , fish point etc.

When travelling to Kashmir specially during Winter please make sure to carry enough winter wears specially for places like Sonmarg where temperatures can drop to -10’C.

3. Good Snow jacket
4. Good Snow Pant ( avoid jeans in snowy places , as jeans will get more cold in cold temperature)
5. Good quality gloves

Couple of queries we have received when we came back was that weather it is safe to travel or not , and my experience was it is very much safe to travel , one will see little bit tension in Srinagar area as lots of Army is deployed for people’s safety but still as tourist i felt pretty safe and Sonmarg or Gulmarg these two areas are too much touristy , i felt super safe here. People are too friendly and humble here. one more thing the most good looking and photogenic people you will find in kashmir , Young or Old everyone looks like model,

One more last important note : Prepaid sim from other states does not work in entire Jammu and Kashmir , only post paid sim works , so if you have Pre paid SIM them make sure to convert this SIM to post paid or get new Post paid before travelling to Kashmir.
