Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve-The land of Tigers

Small write up before i provide trip details ๐Ÿ™‚, My love and respect for the majestic tiger were from during childhood days itself, during the year 2009 when I picked up a camera I started shooting objects and birds and started gaining interest in nature and wildlife, I had done a couple of casual safaris with a large group during 2007 and 2008 without any sighting, but when I seriously started photography I thought of giving a try in hope to see a glimpse of Royal Bengal Tiger, and around summer of 2010 I visited Tadoba Tiger reserve, amazing experience and totally loved it, but no sighting of big cats, and from this time onward I have visited many national parks of India i.e. Kanha, Tadoba (multiple time), BRT, Nagarhole, etc, and it went on and on without any sighting or sighting with few seconds of glimpse. although during these safaris I learned more about habitats, conservation, and various other animals, after each safari I was going closer to nature, everything was good except sighting of majestic beauty.

But I didn’t give up and during early 2017 I planned to visit RanthambhoreTiger Reserve to try my luck, I booked Three night Four day stay along with Five safaris for the month of May-2017, and after booking I was desperately waiting for May month.

I booked Ranthambhore Bagh , This lovely resort own by Aditya Singh and Poonam Singh , Aditya Singh is famous wildlife photographer and conservationist, you can check about them here , Long back Aditya and Poonam purchased land near to park and made small forest of their own , please checkout this link to know about interesting fact and their work for wildlife . A former civil servant bought land around a Rajasthan tiger reserve and let the forest grow back

Coming back to my Trip Report :
And finally, the day arrived and I traveled to Ranthambhore,  to reach Ranthambhore one can catch a flight to Jaipur or Delhi, I preferred Delhi because of Bangalore – Delhi flight cost was cheaper compare to Jaipur , and other reason was connecting train , there were couple of overnight train ( preferable ) , so that morning i can reach Ranthambhore and pick afternoon safari, so this combination worked for me.
I booked this package : May-June Special

Ranthambhore Bagh arranged vehicle for me to pick from sawai madhopur station , and upon reaching hotel I received very warm welcome, very courteous staff , specially Mr. Ramsingh , he is a rock star , he made sure that I am comfortable enough and told me various points about Ranthambhore.

Safari : I was very much was excited about my first safari and at the same time nervous too whether this trip will be successful or not,
I was going with a group and was enjoying the beautyof Ranthambhore zone 2, suddenly we saw a group of gypsy, and the driver told there might be tiger, we immediately reached to spot and I was not to able to believe my eyes, my lifetime dream came true, I saw such a beautiful and majestic animal was resting on waterhole, I was happily enjoying beauty of animal for some time and started taking pictures, first few shots were a disaster because of my sheer excitement, and then I started taking some decent photos, but the back view of tiger,

I was waiting if I can get tigers front view. after some wait, we saw tiger started going to bushes I took some pictures and she disappeared , but I had great luck that day, she came back again and this was the moment where I was able to get eye level head-on shot , it was not easy to photograph because the way she stares and gave look, I managed to photograph a couple of decent shot under her habitat,  Posting again Header Image ๐Ÿ™‚
